The Chief Executive Officer of Obuase Bitters and Obuase Gringo Bitters, Dr. Amo Collins has donated the sum of GH200,000 towards the ‘ Heal KATH’ project, an initiative of the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The Heal KATH Project seeks to raise $10 million for the comprehensive renovation of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi. This initiative, launched by Asantehene, addresses the urgent need for infrastructural improvements in Ghana’s second-largest teaching hospital, which receives referrals from 12 out of the 16 regions of Ghana. The project has already made significant progress, with 60% completion of repairs to the leaking concrete roofs of the old Gee blocks at the hospital. These repairs will pave the way for phased renovations of all the wards, ensuring better healthcare facilities for current and future generations.
At the event, Dr. Amo Collins congratulated the Asantehene on his 25th Anniversary of his installation as the 16th occupant of the Golden Stool saying, he has led by example and his reign has positively affected many people in Ghana and abroad.
Dr. Amo also underscored the importance of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital as a strategic referral hospital. He said it was important to improve the facilities of KATH to deliver the quality healthcare services that is expected of such a facility.
